Connection Capital, the private markets and alternative investment platform, is excited to announce the appointment of Caitlin Cameron to our co-investment team, in the role of Investment Associate. Caitlin joins from Gresham House and will work closely with Peter Knight, Head of Co-investments, to source, diligence and deliver more single asset private market co-investment opportunities to our private investor clients.

The supply of co-investments has risen over the past few years. Liquidity constraints and the increased cost of debt have forced private equity managers to source capital from a widening pool of investors. Add in the growing number of independent sponsors and there is an increasingly large opportunity set that Connection Capital is able to access for its investors. This growth has necessitated expansion of the team.

Peter Knight, Head of Co-investment said: “I am very pleased that Caitlin has joined as we expand our co-investment team. Her background in private equity and venture capital strengthens our capabilities and ensures we can effectively navigate the growing demand in this sector. Recent growth in the co-investment market has presented opportunities for our clients to participate in private market transactions they would never previously have sight of, let alone access to. Over the past year we’ve secured co-investment allocations in private companies across a diverse range of sectors, investing alongside best-in-class sponsors such as KKR, Salica Investments and Blenheim Chalcot.”

The recent market conditions, including increased capital allocation to alternative assets from private investors and a desire for more direct investment strategies, capable of generating high returns have created a robust environment for co-investing. As a firm committed to delivering tailored solutions, Connection Capital recognises the importance of expanding its co-investment offerings to capitalise on this growth.

Caitlin Cameron said: “I am thrilled to join Connection Capital and contribute to such a dynamic team. I am looking forward to working with Peter and the rest of the team to provide our clients with unparalleled access to robust and interesting investment opportunities that are typically beyond their reach.”

Caitlin brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in investment management, where she successfully identified and executed on multiple investment opportunities across various sectors. This will be extremely valuable as Connection Capital continues to enhance its co-investment capabilities.
